Event Details
This image of Saturn's moon Enceladus
was captured by the
Cassini spacecraft during
a flyby this past March. U.Va. Research Scientist Anne Verbiscer,
who planned the details of this exposure, is interested in
the detailed properties of interplanetary ices and their
physical effects on their local environments. In addition
to data from the Cassini Mission, Dr. Verbiscer has also recently
used ground-based
and other space-based telescopes like the Hubble Space Telescope to reveal how
geologically
active Enceladus is affecting the surfaces
of Saturn's moons Tethys,
Mimas, Dione, and Rhea.
