finely structured dark clouds

stream of consciousness list of observations:
  • they're everywhere!
  • they tend to come in complexes 10s of arcmin in size
  • convention:? name of complex based on coord of largest cloud, with 0.1 degree acc, names of individual features with 0.01 acc.
  • some have associated emission that looks like it may trace the cloud envelope, and the cores are in the "tips" - these are like elephant trunk complexes! see 310.04-0.23
