I list these events because you may find them interesting to attend and perhaps relevant to topics we'll cover in class. They are not required for this class or your grade in any way. However, I would recommend attending any if at all possible.

If I learn of more events I will update this list.

If you have not visited the local UVA observatories, or it has been a while since your 121/124 lab, they have public openings:
Public Night at McCormick Obs.1st & 3rd Fri of each month., 9 - 11 pm in Sep & Oct, 7 - 9 pm in Nov & Dec
Public Night at Fan Mountain October 12th, 7 - 11 pm. Note that (free) tickets are required. It is located about 13 miles south of town.
